Guest guest
Then I encourage you to come to one of SFBAVeg's Vegan Food Parties! We have them regularly, and the guests all bring vegan food to share. For new veg*ns, they are a wonderful way to try new vegan foods -- and then get the recipes. Animal testing is allowed! Yes, you can " test " your new recipes on us! We are a really nice, friendly crowd, and the food is really good. People put a lot of time and care into their dishes and it shows. I can still remember the variety of food that we had last month -- sushi, a few pates & , dips, various grain dishes, different puddings, an awesome peanut butter mousse cake, dal, a couple of cakes, great kale salad... Similarly, for folks new to the Bay Area or for folks who just want to meet others who are also veggie, VFPs are a great place to munch and mingle with like-minded folks. One caveat -- if you are on a strictly ultra no-fat diet, or living foods/raw, then there is a possibility that you may be disappointed in the food as most of it (from previous VFPs) is not low fat or raw. However, you are still welcome to come and enjoy camaraderie with the community, and by all means, share your low-fat or living foods dish with us! This will encourage others to bring no-fat/living foods dishes. For new veg cooks, or folks who want to try new recipes, there are stacks of them online. We've started collecting recipes from past VFPs, and they're available for you to use. (If you've attended previously, and been meaning to send me your recipe, here's your reminder) You can find them at: http://www.generationv.org/recipes.htm (Also available are recipes from Colleen's cooking classes, too) Our Vegan Food Parties are open to everyone: singles, couples, trios, veggie/non-veggie. And they are Free! Although sponsored by SFBAVeg, you do not need to be a member to attend. See Event Calendar for details: http://www.generationv.org/events.htm If you've always wanted to volunteer to host a VFP (which is a really a good way to meet people), please email me privately.
