Hi to all,

I am new in this group, and would like some help locating any RawFoodist in my

local area if there are any events coming up soon or any local groups that meet

for potlucks.

The areas I could travel to are around the portland/metro area in Oregon or

Vancouver Washington.

Thanks Kay

Pick a Peppa sauce is also tamarind-based.

I get tamarind sauce, and cilantro chutney, from

Indian markets.

but it is delicious. mix chopped onion with it. add to

a main dish at serving, or serve as a salad itself.

yum.

tamarind

Tamarind is great!

The concentrate (paste; comes in a jar--don't get the pulp that comes

in blocks) lasts a long time in the refrigerator. It's a great, all-

around, tart flavor-enhancer. I use it to " perk up " stews, soups,

gravies, and sauces that seem a bit bland. It's like the oft-

recommended squeeze of lemon, but much more versatile and easier to

store. Use just the tiniest of dabs for most applications.
