exploding dolphins and sea lions and bludgeoning harp seals

Hello fellow compassionate people,

1. Did anyone see a program on t.v. tonight about using dolphins and sea

lions as either weapons or living radar systems? I only caught a glimpse and

am not sure what channel it was. It was probably on a cable channel though.

I have read about this before but thought that it had not been implemented.

This program seemed to indicate that dolphins and sea lions have been sent

into action in the Persian Gulf. They would either be strapped with

explosives and trained to swim to enemy ships and then blow themselves up or

would be trained to locate enemy ships or mines and possibly be blown up or

otherwise killed. Anyone with info and anyone who would like to organize a

campaign against this, please let me know. Perhaps it could be a FFA

campaign?

2. The massacre of almost 1 million harp and harbor seals in Canada

continues with hardly a peep of protest from any animal rights group. Can we

develop a campaign to stop this here? We (a.r. activists) did well in

stopping it years ago but fell asleep and let them resume unhindered. Let's

put an end to this atrocity!

Sincerely,

Diana

I read an article on news a few days ago about part of this being

true; they even showed a picture of a dolphin with a camera on its head.

I haven't read anything about other animals being used to locate mines.

According to the article, they are just supposed to be trained to not go

near the mines, just place a marker near where they find one. Take this

information with a grain of salt considering that it probably originated

from a military source.

Here's the headline " Local - KCRA TheKCRAChannel.com - Navy Dolphins

Sweep Iraqi Waters For Mines " ; if you do a search for the word Dolphin

on News you should be able to easily find it, else just go to the

reporting station at TheKCRAChannel.com.
