Living-Foods Vegan Eco-Village Forming!

I thought this might be of interest to some of you who may feel as I

do, that living in today's society and attempting to be an ethical

and/or health motivated vegan is difficult to impossible and have

dreamed of having a place to call your own. Waking up in the

mornings, it's getting harder to look in the mirror and feel that I

am living within my value systems, to that end, I'm getting together

people in order to start a new Eco-Village in beautiful tropical

Belize (Central America) called " Adahy Wakiza " (formed from the

Cherokee words for " Lives in the Woods " and " Determined Warrior " ).

Diets will be primarily raw, whole, vegan-organic (no animal

inputs!), wild-crafted and wild-harvested vegetarian (vegan) foods.

The village will be completely sustainable and self-sufficient.

Several non-profit oriented programs will be administered from Adahy

Wakiza, including a Wildlife Sanctuary/Nature Preserve for endangered

rainforest flora and fauna, sustainability training center, and raw

vegan education and outreach services.

Adahy Wakiza is a unique and exciting project. Adahy Wakiza will be

a primitive tribal eco-village/intentional community, training

center, activist center, healing retreat, wildlife sanctuary/nature

reserve and native permaculture forest farm. We will be based upon a

hybrid Conservation and Community Land Trust model. Of the 166 acres

of land we are currently interested in, there are 25 acres

agrarian/semi-agrarian use, and the other land will be preserved as a

Wildlife sanctuary and Nature Reserve. We plan to expand on our land

in the future in order to widen the area of the Wildlife Sanctuary

and Nature Reserve.

Become indigenous with the land, not just in spirit, but in

practice. Don't just talk about it, live it! ESCAPE NOW! Choose

your jungle: Concrete, or Wood!

Uh yeah, whatever..

Sarcasm aside... we have a STRICT " NO Kool-Aid! " policy in the

contract! We're all interested in living a nice long peaceful and

healthy life free of oppression... Sorry if you can't see or

appreciate that! But, in these times, caution is necessary of

I'm with you in spirit Raphael, but my time is totally filled. Probably

the most experienced with the political structures you'll be encountering

is Steven Gaskin. Here's a good resource for his experiences.

Aw come on, Raph. Misch was just joking with

you a bit. She even posted a 'LOL' (laugh out loud)

thingie....just so you'd know she was teasing. :)

I do think a " no-koolaide policy " is the way to go

in any sort of communal living situation. *lol*

This eco village sounds like a wonderful concept.

I wish you all the best and hope it comes off without

a hitch. Hey, did you ever see the movie 'The Beach'?

(another merry tease)

I do apologize for being a bit touch about this. I don't know if you

realize how monumentally hard of a project something like this is to

pull off. I've been working 80 hours a week on this, and dealing

with a problematic wisdom tooth the whole time. I'm also doing this

project because I will be a father in 9 weeks and wan't this thing to

go well more than anything else in the world for my family and the

world as a whole. I hope you understand that. I really do have an

excellent sense of humor, when I'm not pressed under a large rock! I

hope you were able to see that (even in a small amount) in my

response about the kool-aid.

And I'm sorry, but there is definitely going to be no kool-aid! Is

that stuff even vegetarian/vegan? Anyway, with 25 acres of tropical

fruits, and fresh mountain spring water, i can't imagine choosing

kool-aid over a fresh rainforest-smoothie!

project! Meschell

Rusty,

Thanks for the link. I've actually had the pleasure to meet several

people from the farm who were in attendance at the Monday night

meetings, had Ina May birth their babies and so forth.

Maybe somewhere down the road we'll meet up!

Since it takes sugar (horribly bitter without it), some would probably tell you

no way. :o) Lois S. ely going to be no kool-aid! Is that stuff even

No problem at all, Raphael. Thanks for explaining.

I can imagine the stress of your new venture and

the life change of having a child. Congratulations

on that count. You will experience so much joy and

happiness...and if you think you are tired now.... *lol*

Those fresh rainforest fruit smoothies will help give

you the natural energy to make it through.

I wish you all the best.

Namaste.
