Guest guest
Hi all, We wanted to share some photos from the Bay Area Vegetarians booth at the recent We the Planet music festival (did you hear that Tracy Chapman was a surprise guest?) We educated thousands of folks on factory farming and promoted veg*nism at the same time. We built 3 panels that were 10' tall each and held several posters and fact signs. These were the centerpiece of our exhibit, and something that every person entering Speedway Meadows had to walk by to reach the stage. So, thousands of people saw and read about factory farming and veg, first-hand. You could see the sorrow and seriousness in their faces as they studied the information. Here's the URL: http://www.generationv.org/wtp2003.htm The interactive " Why/Why Not Vegan " display was well-received. Despite encouragement, the " why not vegan " folks were reticent about voicing their opinions. We had hoped to gain insight regarding their justification for not being vegan, but apparently they didn't have much to say... :-) We're grateful to everyone that contributed, from giving us feedback on the 12 steps/12 reasons to our friend GQ for transporting the battery caged chicken to Mat for writing some of the materials. We'd especially like to thank and acknowledge the folks that helped us all day: Kim, Regina, Nicole and Mat. And if you wondered how many it takes to build a display on factory farming & veganism... Five! Special thanks Mat, Polly, & Lindsay for their help in setting up. It was also great to have help from Gabe, Syndee, Lyman and Jordan at the end of the day. We would like to do more outreach at non-veg events like We the Planet. If you know of good events coming up (especially if it's free or low cost to participate), or if you would like to participate in future outreach with us, do drop us a line. Cheers, Tammy & Chris Join the vegan r/evolution! http://www.generationV.org/ * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * FREE vegan info kit: http://www.veganoutreach.org/starterpack/free-vsp.html
