Hey everyone,

I joined Christine Morrissey and another

volunteer named Marian today at the Oakland

Colisseum to leaflet before this afternoon's A's

game. Christine has created leaflets letting

people know where in the stadium people can find

veggie food, which I thought was really

important and effective in telling people b/c--

although there is really good veggie food in

both bay area stadiums--the veggie options are

scattered and quite tough to find in both

stadiums.

I'm writing because I felt the leafletting was

quite effective and a very positive experience

and wanted to encourage others to get involved.

We were saying some variation of, " Would you

like to find healthy food at the stadium today? "

and found that quite a few people were

interested in and appreciative of the leaflets.

Not only does this remind people that veg food

is available to them (at this and every meal)

but it also should hopefully boost sales of veg

foods at the stadium, hopefully leading to

increased supply and availability of veggie

food, which would have a huge impact.

Christine put the files of the flyers for both

the A's and Giants games, called " a'sleaflet "

and " sfleaflet, " on the files page (go

to the site via , then click

on files in the left-hand vertical toolbar) so

anybody can print them out and leaflet whenever

they'd like. I think printing out and

photocopying a few hundred flyers and handing

them out to people outside a ball game is an

effective use of an hour's worth of time before

any game. It's also something any of us could do

by ourselves without any planning or notice or

coordination with anyone else, except a calendar

of the baseball schedule.

Just wanted to put in a plug for this form of

advocating for veg'ism. Thanks, Christine, for

developing this idea, creating these flyers, and

inspiring me (and hopefully others) to get

involved!

Nora
