Guest guest
Dear VegList: Two non-related friends of mine, who are both working on becoming vegetarian/vegans have told me about this store in Alameda. I have not been there yet, but both friends were excited about it enough to tell me about it, which is fun to see! Here is the link to the store. Also, I have cut and pasted a reply from one of the proprietors (Denise) who responded to my inquiry about what products/vendors she carries. She seems pretty enthusiastic, I think the store is fairly new, and I hope some of you can swing by and see what it's all about. I have no financial interest in this place, but thought I'd pass on the word! http://www.alamedaartisanbakery.com/findus.html And here's a personal reply from Denise: What a wonderful treat to receive your email! I have, indeed, been finding some amazing vegan products....we are an organic marketplace, but I feel that most of my vegan products are even better than many of the traditional items I taste. I carry traditional, vegan & vegetarian....no partially dehydrogenated oils (margarine)....The following is a list of vendors & their vegan products I currently have....... Aunt Nettie's: Various fruit pies, tofu tamale pie, fruit turnovers, specialty loaf/tea breads, cinnamon rolls. Black China (Santa Cruz): Cakes (many flavors), Special occasion cakes (amazing) cupcakes (many flavors), brownies, specialty breads, scones. Kerri's Cookies (Santa Cruz): 12 flavors: choc, peanut butter, etc.... Staff of Life (Santa Cruz): Many cookies, breads, truffles, tofu fruit pies, amazing fruit turnovers, smiles and many more......This is an amazing store w/so much to offer....... Heidi's Biscotti (Sonoma): 11 of her 33 flavors...... I hope this gives you an idea of what I carry!! I've really just begun & am continuing to find new & exciting products from all over northern california....Also, I adore doing special orders...therefore, anything these vendors offer is always available...I just need a few days notice...Thanks a ton...I look forward to meeting you when you're visiting!!!
