Hi Tammy, Hi Vegan's, Hi everyone!

It was great meeting you at the Vegan Pizza Party. I

noticed that my e-mail bounced back and was never

posted (oh well). What I really was wanting to say is

that I had a great time and meet some very nice people

and that we should all meet again soon!!!

Yaron

Thank you Mary!!!

Hi all,

We just wanted to thank our May hosts, Marni and Mary

Margaret, for recents

events for Bay Area Vegetarians:

- Marni, for a lovely food-filled VFP at her home in

the Castro district

(this is our 2nd VFP in this neighborhood, how many

more veggies live in

the Castro?)

- Mary Margaret, for a fun and pizza-filled evening at

her home in the

Sunset district

May VFP... It was an awesome collection of food with

several desserts. I

found several new dishes that I will just have to

make! I have some recipes

up from Marni's VFP. I encourage everyone who

attended to send their

recipes to me and I'll get 'em up. Several are

already available at:

http://www.bayareaveg.org The inaugural book swap

worked well, too, and I

think we'll do that again.

Pizza Pizza Pizza... We sampled 2 readily available

vegan frozen pizzas --

Amy's and Trader Joe's Ratatouille -- and dined on 6

vegan pizzas from 2 San

Francisco restaurants -- Panhandle Pizza and Pizza

Orgasmica. It was a lot

of coordination for Mary Margaret, but with assistance

from her pizza

couriers like Lyman & Pete, neighborly cookie

suppliers like Joe & Colleen,

and a helpful dishwasher with a sunny-disposition, she

made it seem so easy.

In an informal taste test by Bay Area Vegetarian

members and their friends,

here's how they ranked and their approximate cost:

1) Panhandle Pizza ($18) **

2) Amy's ($6.69 at Safeway's)

3) Pizza Orgasmica ($20-26 depending on toppings)

4) Trader Joe's ($3.89 at Trader Joe's)

** We ate the previously much acclaimed soy cheeze

Panhandle Pizza without

cheeze because they ran out. But it still came out

#1.

Thanks to everyone who participated, and the biggest

thanks go to our

hosts -- without them, these events would not happen!

They are truly our

" Veggie Important People " .

Cheers,

Tammy & Chris
