Guest guest
Hi Everybody, Hi Everybody, I'm a nutrition consultant and have worked at a vitamin store for nearly 6 years, so over the course of those years I've learned a lot and have recieved a lot of feedback from clients. Regarding allergy solutions, I would say the most favorable, based on client responses, is a homeopathic product by A. Vogel. One formula in particular for allergies is called, Pollosan. As far as eye drops, there is also a good homeopathic formula called, Similason. Homeopathics are very gentle with no side effects or contraindications and I'm quite certain they contain no animal products. Whether they test on animals is a good question and one I can't definitely respond to. My guess is, they don't. I will look into it further. I've placed a phone call with the Similason folks. We'll see. (got the phone call back, there are 3 different eye formulas: #1, #2, #3. #2 is specific for allergies and does contain tincture of honeybee. The other 2 are free of animal products and none of their products are tested on animals. I use #1 and it's great fro dry, itchy red eyes). If you'd rather not use homeopathic formulas, there are numerous options. Remember, it's as important to build the immune system as it is to remove the toxins that are tearing it down. Immune building foods: burdock root, lotus root, shitake, maitake and reishi mushrooms, onions, garlic, brocolli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, radishes, deep leafy greens, vitamin c rich fruits and veggies, orange colored vegggies, blueberries, green tea, essential fatty acids, to name a few. Common allergens: soy products, corn, wheat, peanuts, dairy. Toxic foods: processed foods, refined foods, animal foods that are not organic, hydrogenated oils, artificial colors and flavors, rancid oils, sugar, alcohol...etc. Herbs and supplements for building the immune system and helping with allergies include: Vitamin C, Bioflavanoids, Quercetin, Echinacea, Golden Seal, Dandelion Root, Milk Thistle, Astragalus, Turmeric, Green foods such as, Chlorella, Wheat & Barley Grass, Algaes and Spirulina. I don't know how detailed you wanted this response, but it seems I could go on forever. Sorry guys. Anyway, I hope that helps. A simple rule to follow is to eat nutrient dense, organic foods and go Vegan! Just thought I'd throw that in for good measure. Syndee Collison Nutrition Consultant P.S. Don't forget your essential fatty acids and sublingual B12 if you're vegan.
