Is there a second-hand or recycling store where a percentage of the proceeds from the sale goes to a veg or animal group? Pstrand ***** Yes there is. If you live on the Peninsula or happen to be in the area, check out Pick of the Litter at their new location: 1127 Chula Vista in Burlingame, just one block south of Broadway and close to Highway 101 and Cal Train. It features various second-hand treasures including clothing, household items, furniture, art, jewelry, electronics, books, vintage and costume clothing, and a children’s department. The Pick is open Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday, 11 am to 5 pm. If you need more info, call 650/344-1662 for store info and directions. And, best of all, the entire proceeds of the store directly benefit the shelter animals at Peninsula Humane Society/SPCA (located at 12 Airport Blvd. near Coyote Point in San Mateo). I volunteer twice a week at the shelter in the dog behavior department - and am really amazed at all of the outreach the group does in regards to spay/neuter clinics, wildlife care, education programs and camps, companion classes, the feral co-op, vaccinating and microchiping, etc. etc. etc. peace, lisa " [America] goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.
