Guest guest
I've been having a conversation/debate with a friend about zoos. He believes that there must be some value to the animals (conservation, teaching children). I'm a strong believer that the entertainment, consumption and abhorrant abuses are inexcusable. I read recently in Bay Area Parent magazine an article entitled " Start Saving the World... With a Trip to the Zoo. " It talks about the San Francisco Zoo paying gobs of money to create an environment of conservation, that some animals are being rescued from extinction, and that the zoo offers " a chance to understand animals from a global perspective. " I'm still not planning to visit the zoo, but I'm curious about SFBAVeger's perspectives on this topic. Have you seen the SF Zoo? ~Caity -- Caity McCardell http://www.CaityandStefan.com
