A Vegan Working in a Non-Vegan Environment

Hello all,

I am looking for suggestions for my little predicament. I recently

moved to the SF Bay area looking for Computer Support work. It is a

very tough market and the only group that was really interested in

me (and they seem like a great group to work with) is at a non-

profit that does disease research on mice and rats; I just started

the position today. I became a vegan for ethical reasons and took

this position knowing that they do this type of research. I moved

to the greater SF Bay area specifically because I am a vegan. In

order to be a vegan, I need a good job to afford the vegan lifestyle

and the cost of SF in general. I know these are good causes that

research is for; however, I keep feeling a little guilty to

indirectly be involved in animal testing (lab mice). I think that

if I were to go to a vegan group meeting and tell them where I work

them where I work, they will treat me like Right-Wing Christians at

an abortion clinic...

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

DJ Veggie (djmadameb)
