Guest guest
Hi Florencia, My name is Emily and I'm a veterinary intern at Wildcare, a wildlife rehabilitation hospital here in the Bay Area. Please tell your sister not to move the rabbits and to wait to see if the mom comes back. Have her call Wildlife Rescue of Dade County (located in Miami) immediately at: 305-235-5315. If she needs to bring them in, or have them get the rabbits, tell her to nestle them in a towel in a cardboard box with a lid, with a heating pad on LOW under the towel (so the towel is between the rabbits and the pad) if she has one. Do not attempt to feed the rabbits as they require specialized formula. Do NOT for any reason give cows' milk as it will make them very sick. It is ILLEGAL to rehab wild animals without a permit and if she attempts to care for these rabbits herself, they will die. Wild Rabbits are EXTREMELY sensitive to stress and require trained foster care. I'm very glad that she is monitoring them. Please give her this info. If she doesn't hear back from Dade Co. Wildlife rescue, here are some other numbers in FL to call for advice: Wildlife Rehabilitation Center (in Christmas) (407) 568-3200 Wildlife Care CEnter (in Ft. Lauderdale) (954)524 - 4302 Any questions, e-mail me! And let me know what happens with the rabbits Emily
