Guest guest
I'm not a medical doctor or registered dietician, but I've been a veggie for 21 years and vegan for 16 of those years. I exercise vigorously daily and have for the past 30 years. I get protein from beans. As I've never had a diet related health problem in all the years I've been a vegan, I figure I must be doing something right. I don't understand those who say athletes need lots of protein. Based on what I've read, it appears that professional athletes get their energy from complex carbohydrates, such as pasta, rice and potatoes. But don't forget to take a supplement for vitamin B12! Good luck. - " wncannon " <wncannon <sfBAVeg > Monday, June 30, 2003 8:18 AM [sfBAVeg] Protein... > Hi. I am a Bay Area Vegan. I have been vegan for almost two > months.
