Guest guest
Hi all, Just wanted to give everyone an update on the Bay Area Vegetarians booth at SF Pride Celebration this past weekend. It was a lot of hard work but very rewarding to meet so many vegetarians and potential vegetarians who were receptive to our message. As a plus, it was great fun to meet so many really nice people over the two days -- from all over the world! In fact for a non-animal rights/veggie/environmental event, this was probably the most vegetarians we'd every met in such a short period of time. We must have given out over a thousand pieces of literature (with " Why Vegan " , " PeTA Vegetarian Starter Kit " and " But You Eat Fish, Don't You? " being the most popular) and folks gobbled up over 600 cookie samples. We can honestly say that this was by far the best tabling and outreach event we've ever been at in over 13 years. We are pleased that we had the opportunity to be there. We had many folks thanking us for presenting the veg message. Our message was warmly excepted with virtually zero negative feedback -- considering there were over a million people there this was quite a feat. Check out our photo albums for some pictures and more comments: http://www.bayareaveg.org/gallery/albums.php We'd like to thank all the volunteers who helped us staff the booth. We'd also like to acknowledge the kind donation of Chocolate Chip and German Chocolate Vegan cookie samples from Sun Flour Baking, and the support of two members of the gay and vegan community who inspired us and made our presence at SF Pride possible. Lets make our presence at next year's celebration even bigger and better! If you're interested in working with us to bring the veg message to our community, please contact us. Take care, Tammy and Chris http://www.bayareaveg.org
