Guest guest
--Wes I'm sorry I came across as a fanatic. I genuinely didn't understand why you wanted to breed chickens. I think those of us who are active in the animal rights movement react with incredulousness because of our exposure to so much animal exploitation. Why in the world would anyone who claims to be a vegan want to bring more of these poor little animals into the world. However, you explained it very clearly - it was for your own enjoyment. That is the main problem with " animal lovers. " The animals are being loved to death. You probably haven't seen the videos that I have or even seen chickens who have been raised on a factory farm with their poor little bodies deformed because of growth hormones put in their food. There are so many chickens who can be rescued and nurtured for their final few months or years. Chickens that you breed will take away a home from a needy chick. My problem is that I'm too curt. I'm not good at softening the written message. I'm better in person. I thought Tammy's response to you was very good. I hope that you will understand where a lot of us are coming from. We hurt inside for what the animals have to go through and sometimes that hurt is expressed in the wrong way. I hope that you will try to understand and stay the course. cheers Judy Jones -You aren't supposed to get it....this is something " I " enjoy. I want to incubate a few chickens and raise them myself. No one ever said I wasn't going to adopt any chickens...but, I also want to raise a few myself. It saves a few eggs from the mouths of of meat-eaters....I will no longer post on the vegan website. I am a vegan and I see no reason why I should not be able to raise a few chickens....You people are tooooo fanatical! judy.jones2 wrote:- " wncannon " Save Address sfBAVeg [sfBAVeg] Incubator Tue, 01 Jul 2003 18:13:49 -0000 [View Source] Hello all:) I am looking for an incubator. As a child, I had my own incubator and raised little chickens. I had tremendous fun being the father to these beautiful animals. As an adult, and as a vegan, I feel a need to give back to the animal world, and want to raise chickens again. Do any of you know where I can find a decent incubator for not much money??? Thanks in advance. Wes- I don't get it. There are plenty of chickens who need to be adopted. Why would you want to breed them?
