Guest guest
Do you want to share Thanksgiving with new and old friends in a relaxed, friendly environment with yummy vegan food? If so, read on! We're looking for several hosts to organize small or large gatherings of new & old veg friends to celebrate Thanksgiving VFP-style. We'd like to get several of these organized throughout the Bay Area. Event hosts are very special people within the BAV community... they make events happen for the rest of us! It is a fun way to get more involved in your veg community, too. Volunteer hosts need only provide me with their location, the time, and number of guests that can participate (this could be 2 to 200!). This can be held in your home, a community room, or wherever you would like to host it (your favorite restaurant?). Potential guests will respond directly to the host, who will confirm participation and provide directions/etc. If you share your home with cats or dogs, that is good to note as some folks have allergies. If there are members of the community that would like to host a celebration that is living foods/raw, or a vegan dinner at a restaurant, that's fine, too -- just let me know so I can include that information in your listing. The guests will be responsible for RSVP'ing to the host, and for VFPs, bringing a vegan food dish to share that can serve 6 portions. As space is limited, they are responsible for cancelling if they cannot attend. All the BAV Thanksgiving celebrations will be listed on the BAV website, and I will update it (based on input from the host) if each location is still accepting guests or if their event is closed or maintaining a wait list. I think this will be really fun way to connect with new & old friends, and meet veg*ns in your local neighborhood and community! http://www.bayareaveg.org/events.php For our cooks out there -- if you have a favorite vegan Thanksgiving recipe that's already online, or you want to email one to me to put online (be sure to give me the source or mention if it's an adaptation or original recipe), please do so.. and tell me what you liked about it. I would like to put together a page of recipe ideas with your comments for folks new to celebrating Thanksgiving vegan-style! BAV relies on our volunteer hosts to make things happen, so I really hope to hear from many of you! If you are interested in hosting, please email me with your name, city, approximate number of guests, etc. We really appreciate our VIPs! Check out our VIP page at http://www.bayareaveg.org/vip.htm If you have any comments/suggestions about this idea to share Thanksgiving with the veg community, do let me know. Looking forward to hearing from y'all.
