Guest guest
Badarikashrama is a Hindu temple in San Leandro frequented mostly by Indians. They always have a concert of classical Indian music (with great musicians), followed by a vegetarian feast, on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Swami Omkarananda really likes it when folks who don't have a family thing to go to show up, and they usually publicise it, so there's no need to feel shy about attending. It's all free (be civilized and put something in the donation box; no one will ask you to, or pressure you to join or anything like that). Most of the seating is on the floor, so you might want to bring a small cushion. Definitely bring a plate and utensil or you'll end up using plastic throwaways. The concert is at 3pm, there's a short talk and religious ceremony, then the feast of home-cooked Indian vegetarian (not all vegan, but enough is to make a meal out of) dishes brought in by the congregation members.
