Guest guest
Hi, I'm looking for a caretaker for my cat. In the hopes that it will help me find him the best home possible, I'm offering to pay $25/month, plus his medical expenses. My first choice would be an animal-rights, vegan, or vegetarian person. Ideally, I would like to find someone who would keep him for the rest of his life. Spot is a 14-year-old short-haired, tan and black spotted tabby. He eats only urinary tract formula food, and must be kept away from other food. He is an indoor-only cat (though it would be really ideal if he could go on supervised visits to the back yard, making sure he doesn't come into contact with neighborhood cats or run away). Spot is very loving. He also sometimes bites (not skin-piercing bites)--it seems that sometimes he feels picked on, for instance if he gets petted in a way he doesn't like. Spot needs a very gentle and patient guardian who will stop touching him when he doesn't want to be touched anymore, and who will accept and love him just the way he is, biting and all. He needs to be able to sleep on the bed with his human at night. In addition to a relationship, he needs the basics: food and fresh water daily in a clean bowl, kitty litter changed daily, a place where everyone will pay attention to make sure he doesn't slip outside when the door is opened, or jump into the dryer, etc. Spot has always had at least one other animal companion in the household: cat(s), a bird, or a non-aggressive dog. I think that if there were usually a human around to keep him from being bored and lonely, being an " only cat " would also be fine for him. So, please email me if you are a cat-loving person who would like to take Spot. If you know someone who might fit the bill, but who won't read this, would you please forward it to them? Thank you P.s., if you are interested, I'll want to know more about your situation. These are the sorts of things I'm interested in, FYI: If you rent, does your landlord allow cats? How many other people live in or spend a lot of time in the household? How long have they been there? How do they feel about and interact with cats? What are the ages of any children in the household? How many hours per day are you at home and available to interact with Spot? How often do you spend the night away from home, and how will you take care of Spot when you are away? How many nights per week would Spot be able to sleep on your bed with you? Have you ever been a cat guardian before? If so, what happened to the cat(s)? How many and what kind of other animals are in the household? If there are other cats, do they go outside? Are there fleas in the household? Would you be willing to get rid of them? Would he be able to look out of a window day and night? Do you want a 6-foot carpeted pink cat tree? What neighborhood/city do you live in? Got references? Thanks!
