Guest guest
I called the Governor's office but also sent a fax (fax #: 916-445-4633). Although I definitely encourage phone calls, if you have access to a fax machine, a fax also gives you an opportunity to make a statement about the bill. I read an article recently in which the Governor made a derisive statement about how there's so much work to be done but the Legislature is sending him bills about what ducks can be fed. So I'm guessing a lot about animal suffering might be wasted on him. I think it probably is useful to discuss aspects that will matter to him, e.g.: -- California's not going out on its own, because so many other countries already have similar bans; -- This is a great way to win the hearts of voters without spending a dime of public money and no " public program " is involved; -- Restaurants aren't going to care about this in the long run (they've thrived despite the ban on smoking; they'll thrive past 2012); and -- There's only one foie gras producer, so it's a lot of ducks and folks who care about animals, but only one producer, involved. These are, of course, just my thoughts, but please feel free to use any of these ideas in a fax or e-mail. Thanks! Thea Note: forwarded message attached. Guest guest
I have been trying ALL DAY to send a fax and have gotten only busy signals. Frustrating! Also, his children love animals. Ask him to seek guidance from his children. k on 8/27/04 5:06 PM, Thea Langsam at thea_langsam wrote: I called the Governor's office but also sent a fax (fax #: 916-445-4633).
