Guest guest
Hi All, Several weeks ago, I learned from the UCSF's vice chancellor's office that only the Chancellor has the power to halt experiments. I tried to set up a meeting with the Chancellor and was kicked out of the office and told I didn't have the right to meet with him. Their procedure is to send all concerns from people who care about animals to the assistant chancellor, who's job is to tell us to go away. When I emailed the Chancellor, the assistant chancellor answered me using the Chancellor's email address, saying there is no point in having a dialogue because we are " on opposite sides of the divide. " The university officials are very, very hostile to people who show concern for the animals. They will either ignore you, tell you to go away, or reply back to you with shameless lies to make themselves look honorable and innocent. And the Chancellor himself is protected from all of this because he doesn't answer his own emails or letters!! Remember... " Whoever doesn't hesitate to vivisect will hardly hesitate to lie about it. " -- George Bernard Shaw From the labs in our neighborhoods to the United States' National Institutes of Health, the entire structure of money-making " research " is guarded by vivisectors!! This is why it is very difficult to come up with a good and effective action plan. What keeps this going is that the public is prevented from having any say in what the researchers can do. Our legislators continue to be fooled by these vivisectors about how useful or necessary their " work " is, etc. Well, they can't fool people forever. We need to expose them. For now, please try to do the following: 1. Email or write the Chancellor anyway: jmbishop J. Michael Bishop 513 Parnassus Ave., S-126 San Francisco, CA 94143-0402 2. Email or write to everyone in the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, the Mayor Gavin Newsom, and to the San Francisco Animal Care and Control, to the SPCA, and to every state official, Arnold Schwarzenegger, all U.S. Senators and Congressmen. Ask your U.S. Congressional Representative to pressure the Subcommitte on Oversight and Investigations in the Congress to audit the National Institutes of Health's (NIH)'s redundant funding of outdated, useless and cruel experiments. Ask the legislators to stop listening to sick " scientists " and make sure our money does not get spent on these moronic torture sessions that are being done hundreds of times simultaneously in all major universities accross the nation. Tell our officials, we need to focus on human-based studies such as epidemiology, clinical, in-vitro, autopsies, and other non-invasive studies. These superior methods are being overlooked, because it is easier for the sickos to churn out useless reports using animals. (For info on how animal results are irrelevant to humans, please read the great books by Drs. C. Ray Greek and Jean Greek: " Sacred Cows and Golden Geese " and " What Will We Do If We Don't Experiment On Animals? " Their website is http://curedisease.com The Physician's Committe for Responsible Medicine is another great resource: http://www.pcrm.org/resch/ ) 3. Write letters to newspaper editors. Please let us know if you learn of any new tactics or encounter any problems! Best wishes, Michelle Y! Messenger - Communicate in real time. Download now.
