This national event is organized by activists around the country to raise awareness about the plight of farmed animals and to raise money for Farm Sanctuary (www.farmsanctuary.org). WHEN: Saturday, October 2nd, World Farm Animals Day! 11:00 a.m. registration 12:00 walk WHERE: Splash Pad Park in Oakland - during the Grand Lake Farmer's Market! This year we'll be right on the lawn with all the other vendors. Great exposure and potential on-the-spot walkers! WHO: Organizers: Colleen Patrick-Goudreau and Christine Morrissey HOW DO I REGISTER? To obtain a pledge form & registration card, visit www.walkforfarmanimals.org/locations/oakland.htm. Please send your registration information to Christine Morrissey, 710 Shady Glen, Martinez, CA 94553. *There is a $10 registration fee that entitles each registrant to a Walk for Farm Animals T-shirt designed by “Mutts " comic creator Patrick McDonnell. To reserve your T-shirt, please register no later than three weeks prior to the Walk.* Volunteers needed for several tasks. Please let us know if you're willing to spread the word. We had 60 people last year and media coverage. We can double the number this year if everyone registers themselves plus one walker!
