It was 4 years ago this weekend that the planet's first and only

vegan program on commercial radio made its debut in Los Angeles, and

the very first guest on the very first show was PETA founder and

President INGRID NEWKIRK. BOB LINDEN was concerned that when station

ownership and management heard the content of this pro-animal

liberation, pro-vegetarian, pro-environment show which would

potentially offend most advertisers on the station, e.g. McDevil's,

Murder King, When-Dies, Kills Jr., K(illing)F(or)C(ash), Outbreak

Steak House, Up-Chuck E. Cheese, etc., that perhaps he would not be

allowed to produce and host a second show the following week. Bob was

astonished to find that the locks to the building were not changed

and he was able to do a second show, a third, a tenth, a hundredth,

to where the show now celebrates its 4th anniversary. Bob presumed

station ownership and management weren't listening. But lots of other

people were, and the program proved to be one of the most popular all

week on its initial station KRLA, and then again on its next station,

a 50,000 watt powerhouse out of Orange County, KPLS, where surveys

estimated about 75,000 listeners in any given 15 minute period. Now –

after the sale of that station and its conversion to Spanish-language

programming – " GO VEGAN WITH BOB LINDEN " is heard on KTYM-AM-1460 in

Los Angeles, and KCEO-AM-1000 in San Diego, and worldwide at

www.GoVeganRadio.com .

Bob chose to broadcast on commercial radio so that the program can

run commercials for vegan (no animal ingredients) and cruelty-free

(no animal experimentation) products and services that are

alternatives to those associated with animal exploitation, Commercial

radio comes with a price tag as airtime must be purchased, and for

four years Bob has pursued advertising and tax-deductible donations

to keep the show going and growing.

" GO VEGAN WITH BOB LINDEN " is produced by GoVeganRadio.com, a project

of 501©(3) International Humanities Center. It is a parade of modern

day heroes and saints who are interviewed to discuss their actions to

make the world a better place for human and non-human animals and the

environment. The program also showcases and exposes information not

available in the establishment media in areas of animal issues,

compassionate living, human health, and environmental sustainability.

On this Sunday's show - four years after that first appearance - the

President of the world's largest animal rights organization, INGRID

NEWKIRK, returns to discuss what concerns the movement currently, and

her new book " MAKING KIND CHOICES " .
