The former location of Lotus Garden, on Grant AVe is still empty for

over 5 years. I heard that owner of the building is a rich person

that doesn't need the rental income.

 

Restaurant owners don't want to rent the space because the staircase

breaks up the dining room in 2 sections.

 

It's not business wise to have a space that is not able to

accommodate large parties.

 

So there that scoop. I was hoping Lotus Garden will open again. I

had always wonder why no one took over the business/space.

 

I have to admit, the menu prices are tourist prices, but the food was

very pure and decent.

Medicine is doing so so. Whenever I pass by there, I count the

number of employees that usually work there. (10+)

 

I never met the main chef but he was in SF for a month, and now he's

back to Japan to take care of his other restaurant.

 

There's lots of financial investment in Medicine restaurant and I

hope it will do well. Too bad my big American appetite is not used

to the smaller Japanese portions.

 

Another thing that bugs me about the restaurant is, their take-out

Bento Box of the Day has been the same since day one.

 

The 7X7 magazine and VegNews had great articles on the restaurant.

 

7X7 also reviewed Feel Real Restaurant-SF.
