Vegetarian Cooking Classes in Redwood City

The new schedule is up for the Compassionate Cooks cooking classes in Redwood

City. Each of these classes are taught on Thursday nights 6:30-8:30. To

register, please visit the Redwood City Parks & Rec website. (Choose " Cooking -

Adult " from the drop-down menu at

http://www.redwoodcity.org//sdi/registrationmain.sdi.) You may sign up for

individual classes or for all three at once. (NOTE: All classes are vegan.)

 

JUNE 22 : Summertime Fare: Burgers and Backyard Bites: As the warm weather draws

us outside, that's no reason our barbecues, picnics, and outdoor parties

shouldn't be nutritious, delicious, and cruelty-free. On the menu:

 

*Mushroom Pecan Burgers

*Spicy Black Bean Burgers

*Perfect Potato Salad

*Chocolate Chip Cookies

 

JULY 27: Mediterranean Menu: Summer is the perfect time to enjoy dishes from

this healthful and wholesome cuisine. On the menu:

 

*Creamy Polenta with Fresh Veggies

*Basic Basil Pesto

*Asparagus Soup with Fresh Herbs

*Spring Vegetable Risotto

 

AUGUST 31: Demystifying Tofu & Tempeh: We're offering another Tofu & Tempeh

class since so many people have no idea with to do with these delicious and

versatile soy products! If you've ever had a fear of tofu (or a love of tofu),

this class is for you! Your taste buds are guaranteed to be satisfied, as you

experience - perhaps for the first time - the joy of soy.

 

*Tempeh Bacon Lettuce, and Tomato Sandwiches

*Tofu & Vegetable Stir-Fry with Peanut Sauce

*Sweet & Sour Tempeh

*Tantalizing Thai Slaw
