This is an idea i have wanted to do for many years. Did not have the space or means to bring it to fruition till now. Over the last decade i have been collaborating with some of the greatest musicians and dancers from the US, Japan and Europe on various stages and recordings in cities around the world. Now i will be collaborating with musicians but on a very different level! One night, each month i will prepare a 4 course, gourmet meal followed by a solo concert of an amazing musician. These will take place in a private residence in the east bay and seating is limited to 20 people. Price will be $40 per person. The opening night will be Saturday, September 16 at 8 pm and the musician will be one of the greatest shakuhachi players of our time, Yoshio Kurahashi, visiting from Kyoto! The menu will be: tofu watercress corn soup radichio, arugula and grilled potabella mushroom w/ creamy miso dressing natsu and tempeh dengaku brown rice w/ lotus root, burdock, carrot, arame, ginger, scallion, stir fried greens w/ black bean sauce vegan matcha cheesecake the tofu, tempeh and miso will all be homeade! We are not serving alchohol but you are welcome to bring your own. On October 14, the incredible bass player from Paris, Joelle Leandre will be performing a solo concert on contrebasse! The menu has not been decided yet but will feature pumpkins and squashes in every course! Reservations are requires as we know these events will fill up quickly.
