Volunteers Still Needed for World Vegetarian Day -- Help!

Dear Friends and Potential Volunteers:

 

World Vegetarian Day Weekend is coming up this very weekend,

September 30 and October 1, and while many of the volunteer jobs have

been filled, there are still some very crucial ones with which we

need help. If you can volunteer, PLEASE come to our rescue and let

me know!

Here are the areas where we still need help:

 

1. Saturday, 9/30: Kitchen " Manager " -- Two shifts: 9:00 a.m. -

2:00 p.m and 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

 

This job simply entails helping the cooks and perhaps vendors

with their food in the kitchen, keeping things organized and clean in

the kitchen, washing a few dishes, and just keeping the chaos to a

minimum. Having a point person in the kitchen is so important.

Please, please volunteer!

 

2. Saturday and Sunday -- We need Door Monitors. These are one-

hour shifts at which volunteers stand outside the presentation rooms

to keep the doors closed while presenters are speaking to keep the

rooms as quiet as possible. Latecomers may enter, but the monitors

will make sure the doors are closed behind them. Also monitors will

answer any questions (these questions are not difficult, e.g., " Where

is the bathroom " ) of passersby.

 

3. Saturday and Sunday - -Volunteers to pick up trash and recycling

and to be sure the bathrooms are tidy. Pick any two-hour shift

between 10 and 6.

 

4. Saturday, 9/30, 2:00 - 6:00

Sunday, 10/1 10:00 - 2:00

Sunday, 10/1 2:00 - 6:00

 

At least three volunteers needed for the above shifts at the

SFVS Information Table. Job entails giving out SFVS brochures,

collecting memberships, selling T-shirts, selling dinner tickets, and

giving out

general information about SFVS. Please, please volunteer!
