Guest guest
THE NEW YORKER Vegetable Love, The History of Vegetarianism, by Stuart Reviewed by Steven Shapin http://www.newyorker.com/critics/content/articles/070122crbo_books_sha pin Highlight the link, copy and paste into the address bar! Although the long article contains thought provoking data, it also seems to omit historical development in the U.S. during the 19th and recent 20th century and also slightly distorts some of the facts. For example, Hitler, in theory supported a vegetarian diet to purify the human race but, in reality, he did not stick to the diet. Nevertheless, it is good to have a serious book and article written on Vegetarianism. There is a lot to chew on.
