B. Poleng Lounge receives kudos

April 1, 2007 San Francisco Chronicle Magazine named Poleng Lounge as

one of the " Top 100 Bay Area Restaurants " (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-

bin/listings/restaurants/listtop2007?Submit=1 & o=65): " Several Asian-

inspired restaurants have recently opened in the Bay Area, but few

places do it as well as this nightclub-restaurant that feels like it

could be on the coast of Bali. Fortunately the dance club is located

down a long hall, so the restaurant doesn't suffer. Tea is also a

specialty and works its way into many cocktails and in savory dishes

such as the richly flavored curries. Chef Tim Luym (a Rising Star

chef), who is Chinese and Spanish, grew up in Manila and has a real

feel for various cuisines that comprise the interesting menu. " The

SF Chronicle previously named Poleng Lounge as one of the " Top 10

Restaurants of 2006 " (http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?

f=/c/a/2006/12/27/FDGV2N3U0G1.DTL) and honored Poleng Lounge Chef Tim

Luym as Rising Star Chef 2007 (http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?

f=/c/a/2007/03/07/FDG54OFN9V1.DTL).

The December 2006 issue of Common Ground Magazine

(http://commongroundmag.com/2006/12/food0612.html) raved over Poleng

Lounge's many vegetarian options, such as The Buddha's Treasures

( " small vegetable-filled dumplings in matcha tea-dusted

wrappers . . . delicate and exquisitely seasoned " ) and Poleng Curry

( " full of vegetables and rich with coconut milk and tea-infused

curry " ). As noted in the Winter Issue 2007 of Vegetarian News, Poleng

Lounge offers Tofu Triangles with rice wine sambal sauce at 25 cents

each during its Happy Hour (4PM-6PM). Poleng Lounge also offers SFVS

members a 10% discount during 6PM-8PM.

C. Underdog is winner

Open for 3 months now, Underdog has been winning praises for serving

affordable, organic vegan sausages in a cozy eco-friendly restaurant

run by friendly owners Max Leung & Rizza Punzalan. In addition to

topping Yelp's Best of restaurants

(http://www.yelp.com/biz/ZEjD3H78NtbrHzSdD2BopA), Underdog was

recommended as one of " 8 delightful delicacies " by The San Francisco

Bay Guardian's Feast Spring 2007 (http://www.sfbg.com/entry.php?

entry_id=3271 & catid=4 & volume_id=254 & issue_id=287 & volume_num=40 & issue_n

um=25): " Sometimes quality is all it takes to make something truly

special. For example, when was the last time you had a hot dog that

didn't ride waves in your stomach? Or a good veggie dog (or even any

veggie dog) at an actual restaurant? You can find the best of both at

Underdog, a hole-in-the-wall hot dog shop in the Sunset District. All

quality, all tasty. And all links, fixings, chips, sodas, cookies,

and candy are certified organic. " Underdog also serves Mission Pies

and organic salads with dressings.
