Guest guest
Thanks to everyone who helped with the protest on 4/15 - we had an unusually good turnout with 10+ people, taking over the intersection and drawing nonstop supportive honks and waves from passing traffic. KFC management was dumbfounded, especially after learning that we are not paid, we volunteer purely out of passion. I urge everyone who has not yet participated to consider doing so. Being veg*n helps animals tremendously, but participating in campaigns such as this can help billions of animals forever. And with increasing public concerns over factory farming and the recent improvements made by Burger King, we have a better chance than ever of winning this campaign. For details on the campaign, visit www.kfccruelty.com Helping out is very easy and fun, all you have to do is hold a sign if you're not comfortable with flyering or talking to people. And it's extremely gratifying, knowing you have reached thousands of people and helped countless animals. The next protest is 5/20, 12:00-1:30 at KFC/Taco Bell, Duboce & Guerrero. Please RSVP at http://www.bayareaveg.org/rsvp.htm?id=1599 I haven't been on the list much in the last couple of weeks but I have been wanting to respond to this ... especially #2. Why am I not surprised!? KFC profits from animal misery and slaughter. So of course they cannot understand who in their right mind would give up a couple of hours on a weekend to protest what they do ... Well, it's obvious to me who would... Those wonderful and rare people who combine compassion for animals and wanting to make the world a better place for everyone, including our animal friends! Thanks to Andrew, Warren, and many others who have been regularly supporting protests against KFC and animal cruelty. According to PETA, the organizer for the international campaign against KFC, "KFC suppliers cram birds into huge waste-filled factories, breed and drug them to grow so large that they can’t even walk, and often break their wings and legs. At slaughter, the birds’ throats are slit and they are dropped into tanks of scalding-hot water—often while they are still conscious. It would be illegal for KFC to abuse dogs, cats, pigs, or cows in these ways."
