Info for constiutents of Fiona Ma re SB880 and animal rights issues

Hello Animal/Veggie Lists Folks,

 

Re Senate Bill 880, which proposes to remove protections for the

importation of kangaroo leather:

 

The State Assembly is on recess until August 20, so there will be no

vote in the Assembly on SB 880 before that day. I spoke to Bill Barnes, her

Chief of Staff (usually in the Sacramento office, but in the District Office

until Aug. 20), and he assured me that Fiona Ma is opposed to the bill.

 

He also said that the individual in Assemblymember Fiona Ma's

Sacramento Office who works on all animal rights bills is Eric Dang, (916)

319-2012

or _eric.dang_ (eric.dang) . I thought this

contact info might be useful for other constituents regarding future animal

rights issues.

 

Also, public thanks to Lauren Ornelas for providing documentation

about the killing of kangaroos in Australia!
