new Whole Foods store

I checked out the new Whole Foods store in Potrero Hill last Wednesday

on opehing day and also noticed there was no bulk food section. I

asked a couple of the managers (all the big shots were standing around

watching how it was going) and they said having one would have taken

away too much square footage, which would hold 3 or 4 different

shelves of items. They decided the latter was more important and

instead, have packaged bulk foods in the middle area. One of the

workers I spoke to is from the SOMA store and said: Well, I guess

you'll still have to go to our SOMA store for bulk. " Overall, I'd say

it's smaller (or maybe it has less stuff) than the SOMA and California

Street store.
