Guest guest
Thanks to Nadine May correction my major mistakes Here's the web site If you have not yet checked out our website, please do at HumaneCalifornia.org <http://www.humanecalifornia.org/> _____ Nadine May [nmaysf] Thursday, November 01, 2007 3:44 PM sunny outdoors Re: HSUS campaign Actually the HSUS did a survey before they even considered such a ballot initiative, and 60-70% of the people surveyed said they would vote FOR it. They said otherwise they wouldn't even try to pass such a bill, because if we fail, it would be really bad. We're not talking about chickens for meat, we're talking about egg-laying chickens ONLY. The bill doesn't talk about cows, it talks about veal calves ONLY, which most people don't eat, and it also deals with gestation cages for pregnant pigs ONLY. So it's very limited, and while the price of eggs might go up (but a lot of people already buy free-range anyway), I don't think they can say the price of meat will go up, because this bill is limited to those specific situations. So we all think it CAN be passed, and there's no point in telling people that it won't get passed, because then people will stop getting signatures and we'll never even get it on the ballot. Thanks. Nadine sunny outdoors Nov 1, 2007 2:32 PM Nadine May this is my observation.... i am planning to educate as much people NOW on caging and eating animals... == this is my opinion....and keep doing what you are doing == I need to put my opinions below in a blog, can anyone suggest, where I should post it? after we get 600,000 signatures to get a ballot on not caging food animals... The multimillion dollar attorneys from the meat industry can easily inform the public that our cost of meat will increase and can be at much as 3 folds... more than 95% of the population are meat eaters , the rest are vegetarians.... we are definately the minority, i think this our chance to educate folks as much as possible that they don't need meat. What I'm trying to say is, I personally think passing the bill would be hard.... but lots of friends are trying good luck on saving animals. I'm definately for the animals... == I went to a 84 person catered party in Berkeley this is what people ordered 29 fish 29 chicken 19 beef 7 vegetarian, and not everyone were vegetarian folks that means 92% order meat and 8% ordered vegetarian meals. My date and I chose the vegan meal. (it looked the best and it was great-stir fry veggies in teriyaki sauce) Obeserving from the above dinner choices, we can tell people LOVE their meat! in other parts of the States it's meat every meal! No wonder, there's so little vegetarian restaurants out there and so many of those restaurants are going out of business.... == thanks for listening, I'm so upset that people don't know where their meat comes from and don't want to know either! sign, Sunny signature: sorry if my responses are short or I forgot to reply to your messages (pls remind me to respond). I can't spend too much time on emails now.
