Guest guest
Dan - You and Professor Schwartz wrote an articulate and carefully reasoned sermon. A vegetarian lifestyle is highly compatible with Jewish life. Our kosher law severely restricts the use of meat in the diet, but the law encourages abundant use of all kinds of fruits, vegetables and grains. The easiest and most sensible way to keep a kosher home is to have a vegetarian kitchen. As it is written in the book of Genesis [verses 1:29-30], " God said, 'Behold, I have given you every seed bearing plant on the face of the earth, and every tree that has seed bearing fruti. It shall be to you for food. For every beast of the field, every bird of the sky, and everything that walks the land, that has in it a living soul, all plant vegetation shall be food.' It remained that way. " Dan, as we say in Hebrew, " yasher koach " , or in English " go strong " !
