Guest guest
" I find it difficult to feel responsible for the suffering of others. That's why I find war so hard to bear. It's the same with animals: I feel the less harm I do, the lighter my heart. I love a light heart. And when I know I'm causing suffering, I feel the heaviness of it. It's a physical pain. So it's self-interest that I don't want to cause harm. It is a shame what the schools are doing to nutrition programs because of the efforts to reduce obesity in children! A 3 or 4 year old child is not allowed to eat more than 2 spoonfuls of lettuce! And the adults eating the same meal are asked to eat only what a 3 year old eats, since this is what they consider role- modeling! Why not switch to vegan food, and make sure the children are getting an hour of structured activity like yoga and other exercises? We can not all live in Berkeley!
