Laurie Dolan founded Vegan Sweeties, an online and pre-order vegan

bakery on the San Francisco peninsula, in 2007. All products are

hand-made with only 100% natural ingredients and certified Vegan by

the Vegan Awareness Foundation

(www.vegan.org/campaigns/certification/business.html). Vegan

Sweeties maintains no inventory; all products are baked and shipped

to order to ensure freshness. Dedicated to the environment and all

living kind, Vegan Sweeties ships orders using only biodegradable

cornstarch peanuts that decompose in water leaving no toxic waste.

In addition to its online items of cookies (brownie, chocolate chip,

peanut butter, Russian tea, seasonal cookies, etc.), Vegan Sweeties

can accommodate special requests (cakes, cupcakes, sugar cookies in

a wide variety of shapes, etc.) – and favors (sweets individually

wrapped and tied with ribbon) for special occasions such as

weddings, dinner parties and corporate events. Customers have the

option of having items shipped (website orders only) or picked up at

Vegan Sweeties' Belmont location. For large quantities, deliveries

in the region from San Jose to San Francisco may be available by

arrangement.

Vegan Sweeties' owner Laurie Dolan has been baking since she was a

small child. In 2002, she became vegan to improve her health and

remained vegan for ethical and environmental reasons. With her new

lifestyle, her passion for baking remained and she spent countless

hours trying to recreate and modify her favorite recipes into vegan

versions. Her Lemon Bar recipe was published in the Autumn 2005

issue of Veggie Life Magazine and her Blueberry Muffin recipe was

published in the June 2005 issue of Vegetarian Times Magazine.

Vegan Sweeties' Chocolate Chip Cookie will be featured in the April

2008 issue of Vegetarian Times Magazine in their Taste Test section.
