Guest guest
I wrote to PETA about shutting down the art exhibit of a video showing animals being killed with a sledgehammer. Here is their reply, including contact information to write letters to the Art Institute via U.S. mail or email. Posted by Bonnie Knight, San Francisco Dear Bonnie, Nicole Matthews forwarded your message to me. PETA is aware of the exhibit and is contacting the Art Institute. We must be careful not to bring attention to this exhibit. The “artists†who create such pieces do so banking on controversy and if we bring a great deal of attention to this obscure exhibit, we ’ll just be playing right into their hands and encouraging others to copycat. Some individuals were there leafleting this weekend and reported that very few people were visiting the exhibit. Please direct your concerns to the art institute discreetly (contact info below) and do not involve the media. That would simply be giving the “artist†the attention he so desperately wants. Feel free to contact me directly with any questions. Thank you.
