Get fun campaign gear and wear it to an event near you. Good news! The Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act will be on the 2008 California ballot! The Act will prevent California factory farms from confining animals in the most restrictive crates or cages -- specifically, veal crates for calves, battery cages for egg-laying hens, and gestation crates for breeding pigs. Our signature gathering team amassed nearly 800,000 signatures to qualify for the ballot. This was an amazing feat, and I'm so grateful to the more than 4,000 volunteers who worked so hard to secure a place on the ballot for this anti-cruelty measure. Now it's time to turn up the volume on this campaign. We're on the ballot, but to win this victory for farm animals we need every concerned Californian to vote " YES " on the Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act on November 4 (we'll have a ballot number in a few months). Our opposition has already enlisted high-priced political consultants who are focused the task of tearing down the ballot initiative. And with the big bucks of agribusiness, we know we are going to have a tough fight. We need you to be a part of the get out the vote effort to ensure that voters have the facts. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend an event near you to regroup with other volunteers and learn about the important and fun ways you can help get out the vote. Make an online donation today to keep this important campaign moving forward. Factory egg producers have already pumped nearly a million dollars into the opposition's campaign. We know we're likely to be outspent, but we need your help in order to compete.
