Guest guest
I would be willing to moderate. I am new so I am more than willing to step aside for someone with more experience to step in if they wish. I think that if we pick a night and time, who ever shows up shows up and we can play it by ear. I have a feeling that it will develop on its own with just a loose guideline. We could set up a topic schedule on Raw Seattle or even under files here. Say we decide Tuesdays at 6:30pm (this day and time has no significance to me it is just used for illustrations) Ideas for topics could be sent to the modorator and the modorator could plug it in to a scheduled day. So say the first meeting could be detox, the second could be recipies, etc. Everyone could go to the 'file' and see what topic(s) will be discussed on what day. I would also suggest that participants have some things they would like to discuss prepared. Such as for the recipie discusssion, have the recipies already typed out on your computer (say in a word file) so it could then just be cut and pasted to the chat room. That would save time, and it would be best becasue when you get 15 people in a chat room all talking at once, lines get mixed up and you could end up getting " Raw sour apple squash soup " . Instead of Raw Sour Apple pie as one recipe and Squash soup as the other recipe. One warning about chat rooms, it is very easy for things to be misunderstood. When you are face to face you can see the person's face and the tone in their voice. You don't have that in chat. So if I am standing next to you and say " Geeze that was stupid of you " , but I am laghing and smiling, you would know I was joking. In chat you can't see me smiling or laughing, you could not tell that I was joking. Does that make sense? So be careful how you say things and also if something strikes you wrong, take a moment to ask and get clarification before you get angry. The person probably did not intend it as you took it. monte
