Guest guest
thanks for the heads up on this paste. i went and got some and it is tasty, though people watching their sodium may want to note percentages on label. it is now $2.19 for a 16 oz jar and i didn't look to see if they have an 8 oz jar but at New May Wah (at 8th Ave & Clement, a door or two down from the Radio Shack on the corner) they do have an 8 oz for $1.39 and 16 oz for $2.45. personally, i appreciate the customer experience better at New May Wah over Lien Hing # 3 at 5th ave but that is customer choice. New May Wah also has other interesting non western vegie items, both in dry and refrigerated areas. brian --- On Mon, 6/30/08, sunny outdoors <sunny_outdoors wrote: sunny outdoors <sunny_outdoors Fundraising events + vegan thai soup mix " sf veg " Monday, June 30, 2008, 2:54 PM 3. Great cooking item. Vegan Thai Tom Yam (Yum) paste for Hot and Spicy soup - Spicy Hot & Sour Paste by Shanggie. Yellow, Green and white label on a fat jar. available at a Chinese Market on the corner of Clement and 5th Ave. 16 oz for $2.12 each bottle. You can control the spiciness of the soup. All vegan, no msg, no preservatives, it's the ONLY type of paste among all the other nasty stuff that's commonly sold. Feel free to buy extras for friend, so it will encourage store managers to stock more healthy vegan food. If you see something similar sold at other stores, pls post to the veggie list!
