Even people that like grouply states it creates more spam messages for

them.

 

I sent this to my OTHER GROUP. I don't make decisions like this for

this group. This message is simply for you to be aware of what grouply

is about. They still have kinks to work out.

 

Grouply.

I wasn't planning to do this notice at this hour in the morning, or

even this week, but me and some others, not all though, got a notice

from a guy named " Jon Beck " asking us to join grouply. All grouply

members have been removed and I am emailing them to come back if they

wish to under another email address. I have talked to a co-moderator

at some length about this issue. One member of the community who is

not a moderator asked who this " Jon Beck " guy is who is inviting us to

this service. Grouply certainly seems to have a lot of power in order

for them to do an invitation like this. I may have acted too quickly

in removing the grouply members from the group. It probably would of

been better if I gave them some notice.

 

Here is the notice I was going to send when I had a little more time

but this invitation warrants immediate attention. I for one don't like

or appreciate getting an individual email to my email address and then

I find out more than me got it. This " Jon Beck " may have had good

attentions, but I don't like it.

There is a new service out there called grouply.

THERE ARE VERY MIXED REVIEWS OF THIS SERVICE. I CAN'T ENDORSE THIS

SERVICE OR LET ANYBODY POST A MESSAGE ENCOURAGING ANYBODY TO TRY THIS

SERVICE OUT UNTIL IT IS KNOWN FOR SURE THAT THEY HAVE THEIR ACT TOGETHER.

There are many negative blogs about grouply right now.

Are they justified?

I don't know.

I do know that grouply changes your email address in your

to xxx and that I brought up issues that they hadn't even

thought about yet when I met with them in person recently. You do get

to talk to people in person.

I was a short lived member of grouply.

Grouply doesn't know how to combat this bad press effectively.

The policy of this group will be to look upon grouply with extreme

caution.

Many moderators are concerned about the effect that

grouply has in their groups, and for the good of the group, I can't

ignore that fact.

Some groups are banning members who have the grouply email address in

their membership profile.

 

UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE THIS GROUP ALSO WILL NOT ALLOW A MEMBER TO REMAIN

IN THE GROUP IF HIS PRIMARY EMAIL ADDRESS IN HIS GROUP MEMBERSHIP

being removed.
