Guest guest
URGENT: Please vote against Army plan to shoot live pigs for medical drill Time-sensitive: Please vote in AOL’s poll about whether shooting animals for military medical practice is justified. The military plans to shoot live animals to provide wound-care practice for medics, despite the fact that there is much better training available in clinics and with simulators. It is cruel to animals and to people to provide this sort of crude “training” exercise. But so far, the vote is not going our way. Please vote and pass this along to others your know. http://news.aol.com/article/army-to-shoot-live-pigs-for-medical/88940?icid=200100397x1206026931x1200281510

But how, exactly, will a vote in an AOL poll have an impact on that decision or advance any of our goals? -- David Benfell <dbenfell

Guest guest
Hi all,In response to Claudia's email, there are a few other links I have found that are worth checking out:Please take five minutes to write a letter by following the link below: http://getactive.peta.org/campaign/army_shoots_pigs Also, the military seem to be testing torture techniques on dogs - maybe you want to write a letter about that too?http://www.peta.org/feat/military/ Here's an article summarizing all the ethical killing improvements made in slaughter factories due to USDA requirements - it seems pretty basic that if we are spending millions to ensure that the animals we eat are not in distress when they are slaughtered, that it shouldn't be lawful to cause untold trauma and distress for " practice.
