" The green movement raises awareness of environmental issues " Found on

the internet.

I have noticed that Green is in, and not only in progressive places

like San Francisco.

The major daily newspaper in San Francisco had a Green Supplement

yesterday.

http://www.sfgate.com/green/

Almost every outdoor San Francisco Festival tries to interpret what

Green means for their festivals.

Private companies have been aware of " Green " for years.

There are " Green " shows on national cable channels.

http://planetgreen.discovery.com/tv/

Comcast offers Planet Green on channel 201.

We have the Green Festivals which has now expanded to five cites

around the United States.

http://www.greenfestivals.org/

We even have mention of numerous Green celebrities in " fluff "

magazines found in local supermarkets around the United States.

Is " Green " going to be forever in our consciousnesses? I don't know,

but the one thing I know is that things don't remain the same. The

American consciousness has changed concerning women wearing pants,

people smoking cigarettes, people being plump,(check the pictures of

movie stars of the early 1920's, etc.

Green is definitely in and it is vitally important! It is also a good

organizing tool for promoting vegetarianism, as vegetarianism is a MUCH

greener way of living.

The production and consumption of meat is brown, not green, and

contributes heavily to our worst environmental disasters, including

global warming, deforestation, species extinction and loss of

biodiversity, air and water pollution, in addition to poor health and

cruelty to animals.

Please visit (and share) Eco-Eating : Eating as if the Earth Matters (it

does!) at www.brook.com/veg - there is a lot of eco-info and loads of links.

Peace,

Dan
