Gentle Thanksgiving Gentle Thanksgiving is an opportunity to encourage friends, family and neighbors to adopt compassionate alternatives to cruel and gruesome turkey dinners. We accomplish this by demonstrating the great taste and superior nutrition of vegan recipes and a variety of festive veg foods. Here are some ways you can help turkeys this holiday season: Request free handouts for distribution (pictured right). Give them to family and friends, and distribute them at veg-friendly locations around your community (natural foods stores, veg restaurants, universities, etc.). Host a private Gentle Thanksgiving dinner. Invite family, friends, and acquaintances to join you - it's a friendly way to introduce the great taste and many benefits of a cruelty-free diet to those around you. Coordinate a public Gentle Thanksgiving meal. A great form of outreach, public vegan dinners can be held at local churches, community centers, veg-friendly restaurants, or any other appropriate location. Consider making it a potluck, hiring a caterer, or asking volunteers to donate vegan food for the occasion. Place a Gentle Thanksgiving web banner on your website. Be sure to register your plans with us. Registering allows us to list your activities and community in the Gentle Thanksgiving Events Directory. Registration will help generate media and inspire others to get active. Together, we will demonstrate the true meaning of Thanksgiving and the benefits of the vegan lifestyle.
