Guest guest
Do-Ni Gift of Love (subsidiary of Kailia Footwear), 408-689-2381 (www.do-ni.com) $10 off any pair of Do-Ni ballerina flats. Do-Ni was conceived by two veteran vegetarian footwear designers Nancy Dong (www.kailiafootwear.com) and Carlotta Fiorini of Italy. Do-Ni offers one style of ballerina in 5 delicious colors and two versions. They are vegan, fair trade and hand-made with eco-friendly materials from Europe, such as soft supple nonleather from Italy, water-based glues and recycled insole boards. 100% of retail profits are donated to participating non-profit organizations. DoNi means gifts in Italian. By being both wholesaler and direct on-line retailer, Do-Ni is able to offer a premium European product at a very competitive price (who can't use a little savings these days?), and still offer the participating non-profits a very generous donation, way above the industry standard of 2-5%. Do-Ni is the philanthropy branch of Kailia Footwear. Kailia Footwear was featured with Colleen Quen Couture at the fashion show in the de Young Museum's Artist-in-Residence reception for Corinne Okada Takara in December 2008, as well as the Be Eco Chic Fashion Show in May. Kailia Footwear's online store will open in mid-January, featuring the Spring 2009 collection. Several fashion & trunk shows are planned in the Bay Area in 2009.
