Fight against genetically engineered food talk on April 17 in SF

Join Food & Water Watch for an evening with Josphat Ngonyo, Kenyan activist and

founder/director of the Africa Network for Animal Welfare who will present a

talk titled " Africa Bullied into Submission by Multinational Corporations;

Kenyan Perspective on GE Technology, GMOs and Bio-safety Legislation " and Helge

Helberg, Executive Director of Marin Organic, who will talk about local fights

against genetically engineered crops including Measure H, Mendocino County's ban

on GE crops, and AB 541, the legislation that passed last year to protect

California farmers from the threats of GE infringement.

 

When: Friday, April 17, 5:30-7:30. Light hor'dourves and drink reception. Talk

will start promptly at 6.

Parking/Transportation: 10 min. walk from Montgomery Bart & Transbay bus

terminal. Free 1 hour parking on Stillman St. Free 2 hour parking is available

in the South Park Circle neighborhood located 1 1/2 blocks away between 2nd &

3rd Sts. Paid parking lots at the corner of 3rd and Harrison & off Harrison just

before 4th Street (across from the Whole Foods parking garage).
