Previous events, there were NO vegan option.

3 vegan options are provided.

1. Hummus sandwich with organic Romaine lettuce (the lettuce keeps the bread

from being soggy) on very health whole wheat bread that has NO preservatives

2. Peanut butter and jelly sandwich with celery on the side

3. vegan refried beans, corn on whole wheat non preservative tortilla

Thanks Iris for her donation of the organic lettuce and organic tahani

I'm very motivated after hearing that during a funeral for a friend who

tried for many years to promote a healthy diet.

A SAD (standard American Diet) such as meats, sodas, cakes, etc.was

served.

Have you ever been to a function where you can't eat any of the food? The

food is non-vegetarian, and everything is crappy?

...Like they only serve sodium nitrate laced sandwiches, with sodas, fatty

hydrogenated pastries etc.

Well, I usually try to call ahead to see what kind of vegan options they

have. Far too many times, I don't want to be stuck with nothing to eat or

getting " sick " from eating cheese sandwiches. ..Which is the " best " veg

options they have for me..

Anyway, I'm making arrangements to have options for a big event this Sunday

4/26. Last year, there were NO vegan options for volunteers.. Yes, there

were requests for VEGAN food.

I am doing this cause like most events/parties, They serve mostly meat

entrees /non vegan options... and NO more vegan options are available.

We are left drooling and hungry but nothing but yucky food in front of us.

Anyway, just want to give people inspiration...

By the way, I didn't know, a few good organizers of the event are also

vegetarians.. so they were open to having lots of vegan meal options.

I'm pretty excited..
