EVENT DESCRIPTION / June 20, 21 2009

" VEGAN EARTH DAY " , to highlight special global attention on the role of meat and

dairy as primary cause for global warming, drought, deforestation, resource

depletion, pollution, erosion, desertification, world hunger, poverty, disease,

war, violence, energy crises, and animal suffering - and to offer solutions.)

 

The two-day outdoor eco-life festival at LA Pierce College will be a fun-filled

celebration of music, food, speakers, celebrities, kindness to animals, peace,

and green lifestyle.

 

The current initial speakers' roster includes " Diet For A New America " author

JOHN ROBBINS, peace mom CINDY SHEEHAN, Animal Planet's " Whale Wars " star CAPT.

PAUL WATSON - and is growing, with celebrity participation including film star

MARIANA TOSCA, and emcee radio host

JOB Descriptions

1. EVENT MANAGER

Dynamic and detail oriented individual needed to manage all aspects of event

coordination, including: a)overseeing activities of volunteer team; b)booth

allocation; c) booth signup and legal agreements; d) setup and teardown; e)

cleanup

 

2. VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

Working closely with the event manager, the volunteer coordinator will get the

team rallied up and excited about participating in and helping make the event

hugely successful. Volunteers will be needed for a) ticketing; b)booth setup

and teardown; c)crowd control; d)security; e)stage setup and teardown; f)cleanup

 

3. MARKETING & PROMOTIONS MANAGER

Dynamic individual with excellent communications skills and organizational

capabilities. Promotions Manager will be the key management role overseeing the

jobs of telemarketing, marketing promotions and event sponsorship managers.

Also will oversee coordinators of : a)pre-event promotions; b)print production

(flyers and posters); c)event listings and online promotions; d) social

networking; e)press release writing and circulation f)coordination of press and

media personnel - including interviews. This is a commission paid position as a

percentage of booth fees, ticketing and sponsorship.

 

4. TELEMARKETING SPECIALIST

Reporting to the Promotions Manager, the Telemarketing Specialist will call upon

potential sponsors and companies and organizations purchasing booths. This is a

commission paid position which will obtain a percentage of proceeds for all

sales made.

 

5. MARKETING PROMOTIONS SPECIALIST

Reporting to the Promotions Manager, this marketing individual is familiar with

many aspects of advertising and promotions, including: a)writing press

releases; b) posting on event calendars; c)social networking sites like Facebook

and Myspace; d)blog writing

 

6. STAGE MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT

Experienced stage hands needed to work directly for stage manager on all aspects

of sound and equipment setup, including: a)wiring; b) sound board setup

c)microphones and speakers; coordination of speakers and performers
