Guest guest
May 9: Potluck and Workshop: Speaking with Friends and Family about Veganism We had a great discussion about this topic last time and will have the opportunity to interactively explore these questions at the upcoming meetup in a friendly and supportive environment. Attendance at the last meetup is not necessary to join in; all are welcome! Would you like to share veganism with your friends, family and coworkers? Would you like to gain more confidence in answering their questions about veganism? Would you like to learn ways to communicate more effectively? One of the great joys about being vegan is sharing veganism with those around us. This workshop will help us stay positive, focused, and effective as we speak about the issues that are important to us. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable. Family and friends, vegan and non-vegan, are invited and welcome. This is one of our most popular (and fun!) meetups; come and find out why! The meetup will be on Saturday, May 9th at 6 PM. We will share a vegan potluck dinner together at 6 pm and the workshop will begin at 7 pm. All food at the potluck is to be vegan. We strongly believe veganism should be accessible to all. African Americans, Latinas/Latinos, Native Americans, Asians, Asian Americans -- all those who make up our vibrant community are invited and welcome to all events. If you have any accessibility requests, please send us a note. Please see our web page for full details: http://www.meetup.com/vegans/calendar/10240835/ If you would like to be informed of all our events, we suggest you join the meetup group: http://meetup.com/vegans What people have been saying about the meetings: * " This is the best meetup group ever! If you are vegan or vegetarian or remotely interested in being veg*n, you should be here. It's a group of people who are totally friendly, interesting, and fun to talk to. ... I was a little hesitant to attend this meetup at first, because I can be kind of shy, but I am really glad I did. It's a totally supportive atmosphere where you can discuss and explore what being a veg*n means to you. The people are great!! It's a perfect place to find a community of like-minded people. Miranda and Victor are awesome hosts and make everyone feel really welcome. " * " Miranda and Victor go out of their way to get to know everyone who shows up. This meetup is ideal if you're a veg*an who has just moved to the area and you don't know anyone, or if you just started being a veg*an and you want to meet others. It's also an opportunity to try out and share recipes. " * " Good food. Good people. Good discussion. " We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
