Guest guest
We are seeking one more housemate to share our home. We are living together as friends in a small community with common purpose. We respect life, diversity, and each other. We conserve energy, reuse, recycle, clean, and work together in the house, as well as in the little backyard garden tending flowers, organic vegetables, and lots of compost. The location is San Francisco's Bernal Heights neighborhood, which is a quiet district only a short bus ride from the Castro and walking distance to the Mission. You can see pictures at http://www.willdoherty.org/house The charming older house, built in 1912, has a great view of Twin Peaks, Noe Valley, and parts of downtown. The nine rooms have lots of hardwood floors. Three are bedrooms and two are bathrooms. The upstairs bathroom, attic, and breakfast nook are recently renovated with plans for renovations of the kitchen, basement, and possibly addition of a hot tub. There is bike parking and storage space available at no charge. Car parking is relatively easy on the street. The bedroom that is available is 9' by 12' with nice windows and lots of closet space, although one wall is retractable and thinner than a usual wall. Cost is $600 rent per month plus a share of utilities at $75-100 a month and a share of healthy organic food at $250-300 a month. There is a two-month security deposit paid up front for a total move-in cost of $1,800. The solar panels on the roof generate electricity to reduce utility costs. Wireless (and wired) Internet access available. The house has a piano, refrigerator, dishwasher, patio, washer, dryer, and gas stove/oven. There are grocery stores, restaurants, and hospitals nearby and easy access to public transportation. The current residents are Stardust, a 46-year-young queer writer and oboe player who does yoga regularly and gets around by bike or Muni, and Hannah, a 22-yr-old vegan bicycle enthusiast who works 9-5 under fluorescent lights as a research scientist and rushes home to eat lots of food, shoot pool in local bars, and take long baths in our clawfoot tub. We prefer to live in community with a non-tobacco-smoking vegetarian or vegan who likes to share meals when convenient (no fish, poultry, or other meat is permitted in the house). Although we have a TV and watch occasional films, we choose not to make it the focus of our lives. Residents should enjoy occasionally having children around. Please no non-human furry pets. Please be lesbian/gay/bi/trans-friendly and welcoming of other forms of diversity. People of any spiritual or non-spiritual background who accept those of other backgrounds are welcome.
